2019 BUDDS CREEK MOTOCROSS | COMPLETE COVERAGE

After the checkered flag flew on the 2019 Budds Creek Motocross, we hit the pit area and caught up with the day’s top finishers and other notable riders to recap the eleventh round of the 2019 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.

Eli Tomac’s 1-1 sweep of the day was stellar, especially after a rough week at Unadilla, but the Monster Energy Kawasaki rider was practically flawless and made history with his third consecutive 450 MX championship. Jason Anderson has been in the mix all summer and the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing rider’s push to second place in Moto Two was a reminder of that. While Tomac celebrated, Marvin Musquin had to unpack his third straight second-place rank in the championship standings; the Red Bull KTM rider’s consistency is an incredible asset that’s helped him each year. Zach Osborne admittedly was out of sorts early in the second moto and the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing rider had to reset his outlook in the middle of the race to keep a positive result on the day. Aaron Plessinger has been on the mend from his fractured heel early in the year and it looks like the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing rider sees the light at the end of the tunnel.

Shane McElrath’s 1-1 sweep of the day was a surprise to everyone, something that even caught the Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM rider off-guard. Adam Cianciarulo had an eventful day and the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki rider knows the championship is the big picture. Justin Cooper is now knocked out of contention for the title, but another podium finish gave the Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha rider something to be happy about. And the time in front that Mitchell Oldenburg spent in the second Moto gives the Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha rider confirmation he still has the pace of the pack.
