2019 HANGTOWN MOTOCROSS | COMPLETE COVERAGE

The was no easing into the 2019 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. With deceiving dirt (hard base with loam on top) and a high-speed layout, the course at Prarie City OHV is known for being one of the tougher tracks on the schedule and riders know that getting through the first round unscathed is a small accomplishment. And that’s on a perfectly prepped day with clear skies.

But the weather for year’s race was far from ideal, due to rains that soaked the circuit in the days leading up to the race and another band of storms that moved into the area just before the second set of motos. With the rain, the long ruts and chop that developed early in the day became even more treacherous and no one in either class made it through the thirty-minute plus two-lap race without some sort of mistake or issue. How much did things change from one gate drop to the next? You can see for yourself in the GoPro footage that was captured by Adam Cianciarulo, as the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki rider kept his HERO 7 camera clean enough to get clips from both races. Through the raindrops on the camera lens, you can see the way Cianciarulo and others had to perfectly plot their lines to anticipate anything in the path, and conditions got worse as the race continued on.

In addition to Cianciarulo’s footage, clips of Shane McElrath and Ben LaMay from the first motos that show the track left little room for error.
