2019 THUNDER VALLEY MOTOCROSS | COMPLETE COVERAGE

We’re two weeks into the 2019 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship and already there’s an established rank of riders within the 250 and 450 classes. Adam Cianciarulo and Justin Cooper have traded Moto wins in the 250 class, while Ken Roczen has one Moto win to Eli Tomac’s three victories. But the field is far deeper than those four names and as the summer pushes on, we’re certain that Marvin Musquin, Jason Anderson, Zach Osborne, Dylan Ferrandis, Hunter Lawrence and a few others will snatch a win away and add even more excitement. Will it happen this weekend at the 2019 Thunder Valley Motocross?

MX Sports, the officiating body for the twelve-round series, has released the pre-entry lists for the 250 and 450 classes at the Colorado round. We’ve listed both below, plus updates on others riders that are missing from the competition.

MISSING FROM THE LIST

6. Jeremy Martin | GEICO Honda rider is still recovering from the vertebra burst fractures he suffered in the 2018 season; he is expected to return to competition in 2020.
24. Austin Forkner | Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki rider will miss the entire summer with torn ligaments in his knee.
40. Sean Cantrell | Lingering wrist injuries will keep the Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM rider from the opening rounds of the season.
44. Cameron McAdoo | With his Supercross fill-in deal at GEICO Honda complete and no confirmed spot on another team, McAdoo will miss the opening rounds. He is still riding a bike from GEICO Honda as a way to stay sharp should the team need him later in the summer.
64. Jimmy Decotis | Due to a recent restructure at the JGRMX/Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing team, Decotis will not be a part of the two-rider 250 team this summer.
66. Mitchell Oldenburg | Third-degree burns from a crash at the 2019 Las Vegas Supercross will keep the Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha rider from the opening round of the season.
67. Enzo Lopes | Due to a recent restructure at the JGRMX/Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing team, Lopes will not be a part of the two-rider 250 team this summer.
123. Mitchell Falk | A crash during practice at Hangtown left the Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM rider with a broken collarbone that required surgery; he is out for an undetermined amount of time.

15. Dean Wilson | A shoulder injury from a crash at the Nashville Supercross will keep the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing rider sidelined through the opening part of the summer.
29. Benny Bloss | A torn ACL in December kept Bloss from racing any of the Supercross season; although he is back on the bike, he is not yet ready to race. The Rocky Mountain ATV-MC/WPS/KTM rider is expected to return at High Point.
33. Josh Grant | A practice crash and injured leg at the end of the Supercross season has sidelined Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing’s original fill-in rider; there is no timetable for Grant’s return to action.

Great article.
You asked for suggestions. I’d love some segment like “how the pros approach it”—text or video—to get an idea on how a pro approaches a particular part of their track for the week. I loved the old how-to segments from a mechanics POV too. Or how technology keeps innovating our sport.

Hey Swap! As your post said to comment on your website NOT your Instagram post… anyways, as a viewer like myself I think it would be awesome to see the real behind the scenes. The truck drivers. What they go through to prep for the upcoming week and on race day, and I’d like to see what the semi trucks look like inside. Maybe a day in the life perhaps?

I like the coverage you guys give MX and SX. One thing I’d love to see more of is the one on one iv’s you do with riders. The short video interviews are cool especially when compared to just reading comments they made at the press conference that sometime journos have to rely on due to time constraints. I watch the pressers too as I’m a moto junkie. So retreading what I’ve already heard is boring. Your one in one video Iv’s are cool because you do ask hard questions. Not the same obvious ones. Keep up the good work. And let me know if you need my address for the ET3 helmet!! Cheers.
