When we posted the highlights from the opening round of the 2019 World Enduro Super Series, an eight-round championship that features some of the toughest off-road motorcycles races in history, we knew that it would be another motorcycle racing series that would grab our full attention. The terrain and event format that the riders face at each stop is something few could conquer, and this produces close racing with hard to predict results. What more could you ask for?

The opening part of the 2019 WESS schedule puts riders at three very different events in a short period of time. First was the everything goes action in Porto, the traditional enduro at the French Trèfle Lozérien AMV, and then the brutal Erzbergrodeo survival race in Austria. The second stop, the 2019 Trèfle Lozérien AMV Classic Enduro, was a historic weekend for the decades-old event as it marked the first time in history that French riders did not claim a spot anywhere on the podium. In the 2018 running of the race, the French riders used their expertise of the local venue and bested the championship contenders, but rainy conditions at the special test portions of the race in 2019 allowed Spain’s Josep Garcia to take the win. If you have some time to spare, give the recap video a watch. You’ll be impressed by the scenery of the French countryside, the technique of the riders, the work of the teams, and the small tricks that all have to get through the weekend.

Check back on Sunday for a live feed of the 2019 Erzbergrodeo from Austria…
