250 Heat One

The first start of the night went to Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Austin Forkner. Going into turn two, Alex Martin made an inside pass for second, but Mitchell Oldenburg was able to get back around Martin. A lap later, Alex Martin hit the ground towards the end of the second whoop section. In the following section, Luke Clout drifted off track and clipped a tuff block before the finish line, causing the rider to hit the deck and lose his transfer position. Following the crashes, Justin Cooper and Brandon Hartranft made their way into the top-five. Austin Forkner took the dominating win with nearly a ten-second lead.

250 Heat Two

Michael Mosiman grabbed the early lead in heat two, but Christian Craig quickly got around the Husqvarna rider and began checking out. A mistake from Mosiman on the second lap left Jacob Hayes in second place and Mosiman outside of the top-15. Jett Lawrence and Dylan Ferrandis quickly made their way through the field and passed into second and third place. Ferrandis took a jab at Lawrence for second, but was unsuccessful at securing the position. With a seemingly perfect ride, Christian Craig grabbed the heat race win.

250 LCQ

Alex Martin rocketed out of the gate and grabbed the early lead, with Mosiman and Clout behind him. Towards the end of the first lap, Michael Mosiman made the pass on Martin through the whoops and secured the lead. The fight for the final transfer position began, as Vonlossberg and Wageman closed in on Jorgensen. With a minute to go, Robby Wageman made the pass for the final transfer position. Michael Mosiman grabbed the LCQ race win and turned his attention to the main event.

250 Main Event

GEICO Honda’s Jett Lawrence and Christian Craig both executed perfect starts and ended the first turn in first and second place. Jett Lawrence wasted no time and immediately began pressuring his teammate for the lead, by the end of the second lap, Jett Lawrence had made the pass on Craig and secured the early lead. Meanwhile, Austin Forkner made his way into third place, just in front of Dylan Ferrandis. Another lap down, Ferrandis made the pass on Forkner for third, just as his teammate Justin Cooper moved into fifth place. Meanwhile, up front, Jett Lawrence continued to bag perfect lap after lap and increase his lead. Ferrandis closed in on Craig and completely took out Christian Craig for second place, which sent Craig flying and led to Ferrandis going down as well. Craig’s bike was obviously banged up and unfortunately, the GEICO Honda rider was done for the night. Austin Forkner went down hard at the end of the whoops while running in third, after taking a while to get up, the Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider sat way back in 18th place and a lap down. Back up front, Jett Lawrence went down while leading and his 11-second lead turned into just under a two-second lead on Ferrandis. With one lap to go, Dylan Ferrandis nearly took Lawrence down for the lead but was able to make the pass. Jett Lawrence, in an attempt to re-pass Ferrandis, rode the front wheel of his GEICO Honda until he got thrown into the face of a double. Dylan Ferrandis took the checkered flag as the medical crew rushed to Lawrence, who was still lying on the ground.

450 Heat One

The first 450cc start of the night went to Cooper Webb, but Eli Tomac quickly grabbed the lead. A few turns later, Webb dived to the inside of Tomac and re-took the lead. Moments later, Tomac glided through the whoops and back past Webb. Behind the leaders, Bowers and Barcia swapped positions as they battled for fourth place. Following a first turn crash, Brayton managed to make his way inside of the top-10 and into a transfer position. Justin Hill, who also went down in the first turn, made the pass on Chad Reed for the final transfer position out of the heat. Eli Tomac earned the heat race win after finishing with a nearly 10-second lead.

Ken Roczen and Justin Bogle were able to get around Osborne in the first lap. Roczen sat in second place and latched onto Cianciarulo. Behind the leaders, Martin Davalos and Malcolm Stewart began battling for fourth. Back up front, Roczen began closing on Cianciarulo and managed to make the pass for the lead with two minutes to go. Meanwhile, the battle for fourth continued, but Stewart was ultimately able to make the pass and secure fourth place. Ken Roczen ended the heat race upfront and took the win.

450 LCQ

The last start before the main events went to Jason Clermont, followed by Ryan Breece and Chris Blose. Breece ran Clermont wide in the turn before the finish and punted the number 817 machine off of the track. Chad Reed quickly made his way through the pack and into the lead, just in front of Blose. Kyle Cunningham washed the front end out while holding the last transfer position and gave away the spot to Alex Ray. Chad Reed grabbed the LCQ win and moved on to his 252nd main event start.

450 Main Event

Ken Roczen executed a phenomenal start and took the early lead, followed by Blake Baggett and Aaron Plessinger. Zach Osborne and Cooper Webb immediately passed Plessinger, but in just one more lap, Webb and Anderson were able to pass Osborne. The Monster Energy Kawasaki teammates began making passes inside of the top-10. Back up front, Baggett caught up to Roczen but hit the ground hard after an attempt to make the pass for the lead. Eli Tomac continued to click off positions, as he rocketed by both Anderson and Webb, and into second place. After multiple attempts, Jason Anderson was finally able to get around Webb for third, just as Adam Cianciarulo caught up to the group and began pressuring. Back up front, Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Eli Tomac was flying, as he easily caught and passed Roczen for the lead. Meanwhile, points leader Justin Barcia passed into the top-10 after a horrible start. In an attempt to keep Cianciarulo behind him, Cooper Webb caught back up to Jason Anderson and passed back into third place. Jason Anderson continued to go backward, as Cianciarulo passed him and then-teammate Zach Osborne moved by. A few laps later, Osborne then passed Cianciarulo for fourth place. And then, Jason Anderson passed the 450 rookie after a dive to the inside. With a lap to go, Cooper Webb closed in on Roczen but wasn’t able to get close enough to make the pass. Eli Tomac seemed to be back to himself, as he took the main event win in Anaheim.
