250 Main Event One

The first race of the night was off and the holeshot went to Jordon Smith, but RJ Hampshire immediately got around him. Chase Sexton quickly began challenging for second place, but had to deal with pressure from behind from Joey Crown. A few laps down, Jeremy Martin advanced into the fourth place position and just a few moments later, teammate Sexton got around Smith for second place. With six minutes left on the clock, Chase Sexton began reeling in RJ Hampshire and challenging for the lead. The GEICO Honda racer made the pass after the whoops, but RJ came back and took Sexton wide after the finish line, giving back the lead to RJ and sending Sexton back into fifth place. Meanwhile, points leader Shane Mcelrath climbed from 11th place on the first lap into fourth place with three minutes to go. Shane Mcelrath and Chase Sexton made the pass on Jeremy Martin, and the two progressed into third and fourth place. With just over a minute to go, Shane Mcelrath dove to the inside of Jordon Smith after the whoops and the two collided, which sent Jordon Smith over the end of the berm and off track. Just a few sections later, Chase Sexton made the pass on Mcelrath for second place. Jordon Smith and Jeremy Martin battled over fourth place, but Martin was unable to make the pass. RJ Hampshire crossed the finish line first and earned the first main event win.

Jeremy Martin made the pass on Marchbanks and began challenging Crown for third place. With two minutes on the clock, Martin made the pass and secured third place. Meanwhile, GEICO Honda’s Chase Sexton remained in the lead with a near 11-second lead on Shane Mcelrath. Both Smith and Hampshire ultimately made the pass on Lopes and did so in the same corner. Then, Smith and Hampshire continued to battle amongst themselves for a few laps until RJ took Smith wide and Smith ended up on the ground.
