2020 KAWASAKI KX450 | COMPLETE CONTENT ARCHIVE

Recently, we took delivery of the 2020 Kawasaki KX450 and immediately took to the track for some testing laps. Though, the machine is relatively unchanged for 2020 – despite some sweet Kawasaki green plastics – we were once again blown away by the performance and handling of the green beast. Within just a few sections, test rider Pat Foster noticeably felt comfortable on the bike and began utilizing the nimble chassis and powerful engine. At the end of the day, we mic’d up Pat and got his opinion on the 2020 Kawasaki KX450, check it out!

Thanks Pat! You’re extremely observant. I love the way you break down bikes including the subjective approach. The other thing I would add for those that are interested in this bike is to consider replacing the judder spring and half fiber with a full fiber plate in the clutch if you do not want to change the entire clutch. This helps prevent drag and get a more planted feel. It won’t make the clutch last longer, but I felt like it had a more positive feel. I’d also suggest using bars like Pro Taper SX bend bars. This gets the elbows up and body closer to the front for a more neutral feel. Adding ARC levers gets the lever feel the same between brake and clutch and changes the pivot point for a more linear feel. Lastly, I love my Ti Pro Pegs. They look like they will tear a boot up, but my new Tech 10s have stayed together and yet I feel like I have more grip.
