2021 HOUSTON THREE SUPERCROSS | COMPLETE COVERAGE

250 Heat One

As race one left the gate, Jett Lawrence was off to the early lead with Lane Shaw alongside. Michael Mosiman was quick to pass into second place, but Jett had already put some distance on the rest of the field. TJ Albright then passed Shaw and moved into third place. Mitchell Oldenburg began making moves, as he passed into fourth and began working on third place. Back up front, Lawrence continued to lead with three seconds on Mosiman in second. Late in the race, Oldenburg made the move on Albright and passed into third place. Woodcock had a bad get off late in the race when he got sideways through the whoops. As the checkered flag waved, Jett Lawrence continued his winning ways and snagged the heat race win.

250 Heat Two

As 250 heat two left the gate, Karnow was off to the early lead, as Colt Nichols was down in the first turn. Karnow flew off the berm before the finish line while leading and got his bike stuck in the net. Max Vohland was now in the lead, as Craig and Nichols worked their ways through the field. After just a few laps, Craig had passed into second place after a bad start. Jo Shimoda passed into fourth place and began working on Fleming in third. Nichols then passed that pair of riders and moved into third place after his first turn crash. With two laps to go, Christian Craig rocketed through the whoops and made the move on Vohland for the lead. When the checkered flag came out, it was Christian Craig taking the heat race win.

250 LCQ

When the 250 LCQ left the gate, Moranz was off to the early lead after snagging the holeshot. Karnow was making moves early on, as he passed into second place in just the first lap. Simonson held the final transfer position, but Geistler blitzed through the whoops and into the final spot into the main after making the pass. Max Miller gave chase to Geistler but ran out of time to make the pass. Moranz took the LCQ win and was off to the main event.

250 Main Event

As the 250 main event left the gate, Christian Craig and Colt Nichols were off to a great start, but Craig snagged the holeshot and early lead over his teammate. Max Vohland sat in third place with Michael Mosiman trailing and pressuring. After a few laps of trailing, Mosiman went for the move and went to the inside entering the whoops, but Vohland ran Mosiman high in the berm after and held on to the position momentarily. A lap later, Mosiman, Shimoda, and Lawrence made the pass on Vohland. Jett Lawrence went to the inside of Jo Shimoda after the whoops and made the pass for fourth place. As the clock winded down, Colt Nichols continued to give chase to his teammate in the lead, but the pair sat nearly 10-seconds over the rest of the field. With three minutes on the clock, Colt Nichols made the pass on Craig for the lead, but Craig then got a better run through the whoops to re-take the lead. Meanwhile, Lawrence and Shimoda made the move on Mosiman for third and fourth after Lawrence took Mosiman down. Colt Nichols then again passed Craig for the lead through the on-offs and began to put some bike lengths between his teammate and himself. As the checkered flag waved, Colt Nichols took the final race win in Houston.

450 Heat One

When 450 heat one left the gate, Justin Barcia was off to the early lead with Cooper Webb and Ken Roczen trailing. Ken Roczen pulled alongside Barcia through the whoops, but was unable to make the pass early-on. Osborne started challenging Cooper Webb for third, while Roczen continued to pressure for the lead. Brandon Hartranft went down at the end of the whoops, ending his heat race after running in a transfer position. Justin Barcia went down while leading, after running into the rear tire of Alex Ray, which allowed Roczen to make the pass for the lead. As the checkered flag waved, Ken Roczen took the heat race win.

450 Heat Two

When 450 heat two left the gate, Adam Cianciarulo was off to the early lead with Martin Davalos trailing. Marvin Musquin began challenging Martin for second place, but Malcolm Stewart came flying through the whoops and couldn’t slow down in time before making contact with Marvin. Which left Marvin in dead last and Malcolm in third place. Eli Tomac trailed Stewart, as Cianciarulo continued to lead. Tomac eventually made the move on Stewart, then began pressuring Davalos for second place. As Tomac and Davalos battled, Stewart reeled in the pair and made it a three rider battle for second. Both Tomac and Stewart made the move on Davalos on the final lap. Adam Cianciarulo snagged the heat race win and Marvin Musquin finished in a transfer position after battling through the pack.

450 LCQ

As the 450 LCQ left the gate, Cros was off to the early lead, but Kyle Chisholm made a quick pass for the lead. Broc Tickle made some early and efficient passes, as he got into a transfer position on the first lap. Austin Politelli made his way into the final transfer position after getting around Gardner. Late in the race, Tickle made the pass on Cade Clason for second place. When the checkered flag came out, Chisholm took the LCQ win and was off to the main.

450 Main Event

When the 450 main event left the gate, Cooper Webb was off to the early lead with Ken Roczen just behind. Adam Cianciarulo sat in third, but he had a pair of Star Yamaha’s behind him. Marvin Musquin made a mistake going up the wall that landed him in dead last. Ken Roczen jumped to the inside of Webb that gave him the lead. Following the pass for the lead, Cianciarulo immediately began pressuring Webb for second place. Meanwhile, the Star Yamaha teammates began battling as Malcolm Stewart started pressuring Plessinger for fourth place. Stewart not only made the pass on Plessinger, but Justin Barcia also followed. A lap later, Justin Barcia made the move on Stewart and picked up fourth place. Eli Tomac then began pressuring Stewart and made a clean pass going into the rhythm lane. Justin Barcia put in some fast laps and closed in on the top-3. With just under 10-minutes left on the clock, Justin Barcia went down  in the sand while giving chase to Cianciarulo, allowing Tomac to make a pass. However, Justin Barcia quickly got back around Tomac and set his sights back on Cianciarulo. Up front, Cooper Webb continued to trail Ken Roczen, but time was running out for the RedBull KTM rider to make a pass. With three laps to go, Webb closed in within a second of Roczen. Roczen got slowed up by Wilson, which allowed Cooper Webb to dive to the inside, take away the line, and take the lead on the final lap. And just like that, Cooper Webb snagged his first win of the 2021 season.
