Feld Entertainment has announced their latest schedule for the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross Series, including dates and venues for all seventeen rounds. The newly announced program will take the series to new venues in Orlando and Atlanta, determines for the East Coast and West Coast regions of the 250 Class, and temporarily removes the Triple Crown format.

Feld Entertainment has openly explained that it’s in their best interest to hold races in venues that will allow at least 25-percent capacity, and this is understood to be why they pulled the races from Arizona replaced them with events in Florida, Georgia, and Utah.

UPDATE DECEMBER 17 | This information has changed with the 250 Class regions reversing back to a previously announced plan. The 250 East Coast division will start the season in Houston on January 16 and the 250 West Coast Region will begin in Orlando on February 20. For the first time ever, Daytona will be a 250 West Coast race. The updated program, including each race’s respective region, is at the bottom of the page…

The series has created a Fan Wellness program so that crowds can attend races in 2021, and it calls for limited ticket sales, pod seating, and mandatory facial coverings for anyone over two years old. This will be in addition to the rules in place at each venue, including possible temperature checks for fans before entry. The FanFest pit party is currently set to take place in Houston, Orlando, Arlington, Atlanta, and Salt Lake City as these venues provide adequate space.

Racers, teams, and industry people will be subject to more rigorous controls, including mandatory tests each week and restricted interaction between groups while onsite. Anyone that tests positive in the days leading up to a race will be barred entry from the venue, including competitors and teams.

A positive case would certainly wreck havoc on a rider in the championship. The AMA and FIM did not add a “worst score dropped” amendment to the rule book for 2021. The current medical guidelines for a positive test call for a minimum ten-day quarantine, which could cause a rider to miss a significant portion of the series.
