2021 SUPERCROSS RACE TEAM ROSTERS & RUMORS
2021 AMA SUPERCROSS & MOTOCROSS RIDER NUMBERS

250 Class crisis averted. Tuesday’s release of the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross Series schedule brought a significant change in plans for the 250 Class. It unexpectedly called for the West Coast Regional championship to run in the first seven rounds, a start date that was one month earlier than teams and riders had anticipated.

After concerns were raised by multiple teams in the paddock, Feld Entertainment and the AMA have decided a further change is in order and have announced the East Coast will now run in the first part of the season, as was previously planned, starting on January 16th in Houston.

“In speaking with many of the teams, there were some significant contractual obligations that necessitated making this change back to the original designation,” said Feld Entertainment in a Thursday press release.

Both regions will still contest a full nine-race championship, with eight standalone events per region and the combined East-West Showdown at the Salt Lake City finale.

This latest decision will take some of the pressure off teams, but will make for some interesting geography; Houston and the first race in Salt Lake City will be “East Coast” events while the Daytona and Atlanta races will be “West Coast.”
