CHECK OUT OUR COMPLETE COVERAGE OF THE 2022 ANAHEIM TWO SUPERCROSS

Round four of the 2022 Monster Energy Supercross Series is officially underway, here again in Anaheim, CA. Riders spent Saturday afternoon learning the track that fills the floor of Angel Stadium, and to no surprise, the lap times are incredibly close. The front-runners in the 250 West Coast and 450 Class were split by just fractions of a second on the qualifying sheets, building the anticipation for tonight’s gate drops even more!

Here’s a look at the fastest lap times and results…

Christian Craig is on quite a roll in timed-qualifying. The Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha rider has now logged the fastest lap time in 250 West Coast Qualifying for four weeks in a row. Craig’s 1:04.242 shot him up to the top of the leaderboards early in session two of qualifying and remained the time to beat as the timed-session came to an end.

Again, Michael Mosiman trails Craig’s fastest lap-time closely, as he logged a 1:04.281 late in the second session of qualifying. Just a few tenths off of the fastest time, this is the closest the Troy Lee Designs/RedBull/GasGas rider has been to Craig in qualifying this season.

Nate Thrasher made an appearance at the top of the leaderboards at Anaheim Two, as he rounded out the top-3 in qualifying after logging in 1:04.704. Nate’s time is just a few tenths faster than Jo Shimoda’s, but this is the best the Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha rider has qualified this season.

Carson Mumford and Garrett Marchbanks got into it after the second session of qualifying. The two shared some words and got in each others faces before officials separated them. Keep your eyes on the duo if they meet in the night show.

Chase Sexton seems to be carrying over his momentum from last weekend’s victory into Anaheim Two, as he topped the leaderboards in timed-qualifying with an impressive 1:03.046. As we now look forward to the night show, the HRC Honda rider will have first gate pick in his heat race.

Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha’s Eli Tomac was next on the qualifying sheets, as he logged a 1:03.208 in the first timed-session and was rewarded with second overall in the 450 class.

RedBull KTM’s Marvin Musquin logged a 1:03.385 on his last lap in the final timed-qualifying session and earned himself a third place on the qualifying sheets.

As we move into the night show, it’s important to note how close the times are in the 450 class; the top-7 are within one second. It should be an epic night of racing here in Anaheim!
