The second Triple Crown race of the 2022 Monster Energy Supercross Series is officially here, as round eight is underway in Arlington, Texas. Riders spent Saturday morning learning the track that fills the floor of AT&T Stadium, and to no surprise, the lap times are incredibly close. The front-runners in the 250 East Coast and 450 Class were split by just fractions of a second on the qualifying sheets, building the anticipation for tonight’s gate drops even more!

Here’s a look at the fastest lap times and results…

Honda HRC’s Jett Lawrence carried over momentum from last weekend’s win into qualifying, as he laid down a blistering fast 48.513 in the final session of timed-qualifying. Things are off to a great start for the fan-favorite in Arlington, as his hot lap is nearly a full-second faster than the rest of his competition.

The results in 250 East Coast qualifying mirrored the results at the end of the night last weekend, that said, Austin Forkner tailed Jett Lawrence in qualifying, as his 49.254 rewarded him with second place heading into the first main event.

Cameron McAdoo came out swinging in timed-qualifying, as the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki rider laid down a 49.535 in the final session of qualifying for the 250 East Coast class, placing him in third on the time-sheets.

Jarrett Frye snagged the holeshot with Joshua Varize alongside and Lane Shaw just behind. Lane Shaw then went down at the beginning of the second lap after losing front-wheel traction. Marshal Weltin then moved into third place, but only momentarily, as Derek Drake made a quick pass and took the third place position. A few laps later, Derek Drake got a great run through the whoops and took the inside line from Varize to pick up second place. Drake then went after Jarrett Frye for the win, but ran out of time as Frye crossed the checkered flag first. Cullin Park just missed the night-show, as he nearly made the pass on Weltin.

On the final lap of the final session of qualifying, Eli Tomac laid down a blistering fast 48.151 to take over the top spot on the time sheets. The Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha rider heads into the first main event of the night with first gate pick.

After a few frustrating weeks, Ken Roczen seems to be back to his old self after a solid showing in 450 Qualifying. The Honda HRC rider sat at the top of the leaderboards for a majority of the final session, but ultimately finished up in second place with a

Honda HRC’s Chase Sexton laid down a 48.621 on the final lap of qualifying to take over the third place spot on the leaderboards in 450 Qualifying.

450 LCQ

RJ Wageman took the early lead with Joan Cros alongside, while Breece, Moranz, and many more go down in the first turn. Cros then took the lead away from RJ a few sections later. Clason, Karnow, and Lane followed by RJ. Cade Clason locked in on Cros and made the pass for the lead through the whoops. Moments later, Kevin Moranz made the pass on Lane for the final transfer position. Logan Karnow then passed Cros and took over second place. The other Wageman brother entered the picture late, as he was knocking on the door of Moranz with two laps to go. Though, Wageman ran out of time, as Clason took the win and brought the race to an end.
