CHECK OUT OUR COMPLETE COVERAGE OF THE 2022 ATLANTA SUPERCROSS

The Monster Energy Supercross series returns to Atlanta Motor Speedway for 2022, as round fourteen is well-underway. After a night of rainfall, the course was puddled and even flooded in spots, that being the catalyst to the schedule delay and change. Dirt Wurx did some work and allowed riders in each class to spend a qualifying session learning the track that fills the center of the world class NASCAR track. The front-runners in both the 250 East Coast and 250 West Coast, as well as the 450 Class were split by just fractions of a second on the qualifying sheets, building the anticipation for tonight’s gate drops even more!

Here’s a look at the fastest lap times and results…

Jett Lawrence jumped to the top of the leaderboards on his final lap with a 1:27.662 in the 250SX East Coast division. That time placed Jett just ahead of Austin Forkner in that session and remained the fastest lap time logged following the 250SX West Coast qualifying session, rewarding Jett with the fastest overall qualifying time.

Nate Thrasher found his way at the top of the leaderboards in the 250SX West Coast qualifying session, as he logged a blistering fast 1:27.687 on his final lap. That time placed the Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha rider just behind Jett Lawrence and just ahead of Christian Craig overall.

Pierce Brown went down on the first lap and tweaked the front end of his bike. The Troy Lee Designs/RedBull/GasGas rider was forced to get back on the track and attempt to lay down a fast lap with bent handlebars, as they only had one session to qualify for the night-show. Pierce logged a 1:39.239, which was good enough for 19th place and allowed him to move onto the heat race.

After failing to qualify for the Main Event last weekend, in St. Louis, Maximus Vohland spent his first laps on this weekend’s course in Overflow Qualifying. The RedBull KTM rider went down in the whoops early-on, but remounted to finish in third place in the session with a 1:40.497. However, Vohland’s fastest lap time was not good enough to land him in the night program.

Honda HRC’s Chase Sexton logged a 1:25.181 towards the end of the 450SX qualifying session to place him on top of the leaderboards heading into the night show.

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jason Anderson wasn’t far off, as his last lap time logged was a 1:25.286, just a few tenths off of Sexton’s fastest time.

Marvin Musquin was the next name on the leaderboards, as the RedBull KTM rider seems to be carrying momentum from last weekend’s win into Atlanta. Marvin logged a 1:26.620 and although it was over a second slower than Sexton and Anderson’s time, it was still the third fastest lap time logged.
