The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship is in St. Mary’s County, Maryland as round ten is underway at Budds Creek. It was an overcast, yet warm, morning in Maryland, arguably perfect weather conditions, adding to the anticipation for racing at one of the well-liked tracks on the circuit. Riders cut in lines during the morning’s practices, when the track was at its best during the early minutes of the first sessions.

Jett Lawrence laid down some early morning heaters and logged the fastest lap-time, a 1:56.809, in the second and final session of timed-qualifying. Though, that came after a little lap-time battle between Justin Cooper and himself.

Justin Cooper was just a tick off, as his 1:57.283 set him on top of the leaderboards for some time, but ultimately was the second fastest lap-time logged, as Jett turned in a half-a-second faster time late in the final session.

Following those two was last weekend’s winner Jo Shimoda. The Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki rider logged a 1:57.595 in the final session of qualifying to jump his name into third place on the time sheets.

Ken Roczen came out swinging at Budds Creek, as the Honda HRC rider logged a blistering fast 1:55.834 in the second and final session of timed-qualifying to jump his name to the top of the leaderboard.

After a few weeks back at home, Antonio Cairoli was back at the races and seemed to be jelling with the popular Maryland track. The RedBull KTM rider logged a 1:56.441 in the final session of qualifying, landing him in second place overall.

Eli Tomac was next on the time sheets, as the Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha rider logged a 1:56.586, just a few hundredths off of Antonio’s time.
