CHECK OUT OUR COMPLETE COVERAGE OF THE 2022 DAYTONA SUPERCROSS

The 2022 Monster Energy Supercross series has arrived in Daytona Beach, Florida, as round nine and Daytona Supercross is officially here. Riders spent Saturday morning learning the unique track that fills the center of Daytona International Speedway, and to no surprise, the lap times are incredibly close. The front-runners in the 250 East Coast and 450 Class were split by just fractions of a second on the qualifying sheets, building the anticipation for tonight’s gate drops even more!

Here’s a look at the fastest lap times and results…

After last weekend’s chaotic event, Honda HRC’s Jett Lawrence is looking for a rebound in Daytona. The points-leader came out swinging in practice, as he finished up-top in each session of qualifying in the 250 East Coast division. Though, Jett’s best lap time, a 1:11.947, came in the final timed session.

RJ Hampshire was next on the time-sheets, as his 1:12.483 placed him in second place on the leaderboards. The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider is also looking for a rebound this weekend after a scary crash in Arlington.

Enzo Lopes was maybe the surprise of the morning qualifying sessions, as his 1:12.519 was good enough for third place. The ClubMX rider’s fast lap was just a few hundredths off of the fastest lap-time in the 250 East Coast class.

Malcolm Stewart laid down a blistering fast time on his final lap in the second session of qualifying and took to the top of the leaderboards. The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider’s 1:10.902 will send him into the night-show as the fastest qualifier and the only rider to dip below a 1:11.

The 450 class spent a majority of the second session of qualifying chasing down Jason Anderson’s fast lap time from the first timed session. However, in the final laps of the second session, Jason bettered his time with a 1:11.030, ultimately landing him in second place on the leaderboards.

Marvin Musquin was looking good in this morning’s qualifying sessions, as the RedBull KTM rider logged the third fastest lap time. His 1:11.186 was just a few hundredths off of the fastest lap-time logged.
