CHECK OUT OUR COMPLETE COVERAGE OF THE 2022 MINNEAPOLIS SUPERCROSS

The first East Coast race of the 2022 Monster Energy Supercross Series is officially here, as round seven is underway in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Riders spent Saturday morning learning the track that fills the floor of U.S. Bank Stadium, and to no surprise, the lap times are incredibly close. The front-runners in the 250 East Coast and 450 Class were split by just fractions of a second on the qualifying sheets, building the anticipation for tonight’s gate drops even more!

Here’s a look at the fastest lap times and results…

Austin Forkner started his 250 East Coast championship hunt on the right foot, as he clicked off the fastest lap time on the challenging race course late in the final qualifying session. The Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki rider logged a 48.566 and just barely edged out Jeremy Martin for the fastest time.

Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha’s Jeremy Martin was just behind, as his 48.592 was just a few hundredths slower than the fastest time logged in the final session of qualifying for the 250 East Coast class.

Supercross rookie Levi Kitchen turned some heads early in Minneapolis, as his fast lap-time from the final session of 250 Group-B qualifying was the fastest time logged in the 250 class until late in Group-A qualifying. However, Levi’s 48.705 was still good enough for third place on the time-sheets.

Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha’s Dylan Ferrandis turned the fastest lap-time in the 450 Class, as his final lap, a 47.565, logged in the final session of qualifying landed him in first place on the time sheets.

Chase Sexton was next on the list of qualifying results, as the Honda HRC rider logged a 47.754 late in the second and final timed-qualifying session and took over the second place spot.

Jason Anderson looked to be carrying the momentum from last weekend’s win into Minnesota, as he was the first and only rider caught on video jumping over the on-off into the tight left-hand turn. That quad benefited his lap-time greatly and his 47.943 was good enough for third on the time-sheets.

Aaron Plessinger and Eli Tomac went down off the start of the final qualifying session and while Eli remounted quickly, Aaron walked around for a-bit nursing his arm/hand, before picking his bike back up. Luckily, Aaron seemed up to speed shortly after the incident.
