CHECK OUT OUR COMPLETE COVERAGE OF THE 2022 SAN DIEGO SUPERCROSS

Round three of the 2022 Monster Energy Supercross Series is officially underway, here in San Diego, CA. Riders spent Saturday afternoon learning the track that fills the floor of Petco Park, and to no surprise, the lap times are incredibly close. The front-runners in the 250 West Coast and 450 Class were split by just fractions of a second on the qualifying sheets, building the anticipation for tonight’s gate drops even more!

Here’s a look at the fastest lap times and results…

Yet again, Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha’s Christian Craig topped the qualifying charts with a 48.216 in the second 250 West Coast Qualifying session. We must add, the longest set of whoops in the 2022 season looked like a straight-away when the number-28 Yamaha blitzed through them.

Hunter Lawrence sat just behind Craig on the leaderboards, as he logged a 48.592 aboard his HRC Honda, only a few hundredths off of the fastest time in the class.

Michael Mosiman was next on the 250 West Coast qualifying time sheets, as he turned in a 48.985 in the second and final timed-session. The Troy Lee Designs/RedBull/GasGas racer was the third and final rider to dip into the 48’s in the 250cc class.

Jerry Robin and Colby Copp got into it in the first qualifier after tangling and going down, could lead to some aggressive racing between the two if they meet in the night show.

Jason Anderson topped the qualifying charts aboard his Monster Energy Kawasaki with a blistering fast 47.896 on his final lap of 450 qualifying. Last weekend’s winner took the top step in both sessions of 450 qualifying and bettered his initial lap time by nearly a second in the final session.

Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha’s Dylan Ferrandis was just behind Anderson on the qualifying sheets, as he logged a 47.966 and was the first rider to dip into the 47’s before Jason’s final lap.

Chase Sexton rounded out the top-3 in timed-qualifying after logging a 48.141 in the second session. The HRC Honda rider heads into the night show with second gate pick in his heat.
