CHECK OUT OUR COMPLETE COVERAGE OF THE 2022 SEATTLE SUPERCROSS

The Monster Energy Supercross Championship has returned to the Pacific Northwest for the 2022 Seattle Supercross, the twelfth round of this season’s schedule.

Supercross is big in Seattle. The series has visited the city 47 times from 1978 to 2022, a run of history that includes Jimmy Ellis’ first Main Event win at the Kingdome in 1978, Rick Johnson’s seven victories through the 1980s, and Jeremy McGrath’s run to four checkered flags in the 1990s. The move to Lumen Field in 2005 marked a new chapter in the PNW, with James Stewart winning three in a row from 2005 to 2007, plus first-time W’s by Ryan Villopoto and Andrew Short.

Lumen Field’s floor has been filled with long lanes, option sections, and what looks to be good, clean dirt, something that can be hard to come by in the city. Dirt Wurx added another split-level turn to the track design, plus a drop-off a few feet from the starting gate that should make the first moments of every moto more exciting.
