2022 Yamaha YZ85 & YZ85LW | Bike Breakdown

 
For 2022, kids everywhere are gonna be stoked! Yamaha has two new minis: the ever-popular YZ85 and an all-new YZ85LW, which is a large wheel version of the standard bike, ready for SuperMini-class competition. Though the engine remains in standard 85cc configuration, the YZ85LW does have – of course – larger wheels, a longer swingarm, and altered suspension settings. The YZ85 powerplant is quite capable as is, but hop-up shops everywhere know how to coax more power out of the powerplant with some added displacement. We got to chat with Yamaha’s Doug Dubach about the ins and outs of the two new machines.
