The conclusion of the Australian and FIM World Supercross Championships took place at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne over the weekend, with four titles awarded over two days of racing.

A multi-year sponsorship agreement with the Victoria region tourism board ensures the final round for both series runs in the Docklands area, but being in the big venue brings its share of challenges, including extensive efforts to protect the natural grass playing surface and to reinforce the building.

Three thousand seven hundred fifty wooden beams and 4000 acro prop supports were placed in the carpark underneath the stadium to support the floor before materials or equipment could be hauled in for the build, and the track crew worked from Wednesday night to Friday afternoon to sculpt and shape the bright red clay.
