The 2024 Monster Energy FIM Motocross World Championship will visit four regions and more than a dozen countries during a seven-month, eighteen-round tour.
The series starts in March with a visit to South America and the Villa La Angostura in Argentina. The remainder of spring and early part of summer will be spent in Europe, racing on everything from the sands of Riola Sardo on the island of Sardegna, the rocky mountain dirt of Pietramurata in Trentino, the red clay of Agueda in Portugal, a manmade course at intu Xanadu in Spain, the hard pack of St. Jean d’Angely in France, the ruts of Teutschenthal in Germany, a different sort of sand at Kegums in Latvia, and then the historic and steep hills of Maggiora in Italy. This nine-race run is packed into fifteen weekends.
Back-to-back rounds on neighboring islands in Indonesia justify the long haul to Southeast Asia; weekend one takes place near the Bali Sea in Sumbawa, and weekend two happens on a former airport runway in Lombok.
Five rounds will happen from the end of July to the end of August in Continental Europe, starting with Loket in the Czech Republic, then Lommel in Belgium, Uddevalla in Sweden, Arnhem in the Netherlands, and Frauenfeld in Switzerland.
Turkey’s unique geography stretches between two continents, with the East Thrace designated as part of Europe and the Anatolian Peninsula as part of Asia. The track at Afyonkarahisar is in the heart of “Asia Minor.”
Important details for rounds two, seventeen, and eighteen remain to be determined. InFront Moto Racing has a few things sorted out, like that the MXGP of Europe will happen somewhere in late March, and the series finale will be on an Italian circuit.
