4 the Kid in You | Ronnie Renner

Share

In the past few years, the lines between motocross and mountain biking have started to blur with major events popping up like Darkfest and the entire Fest Series, pushing the limits of what’s possible without a motor on two wheels. Just like Freeride Motocross did in the 90s, Slopestyle and FMB are becoming more and more mainstream and contests like Crankworx Joyride and Red Bull Rampage are bring broadcasted on NBC Sports. Each sport has progressed hand over fist, year after year.

Whether you’re an athlete into moto or bicycles – one thing’s for sure, everyone dreams of making ‘it’ as a pro, which is no easy feat.

For the past two decades, Ronnie Renner has built a career based around his passion for riding, and he has become a household name in freestyle motocross. He shows few signs of slowing down anytime soon. Renner holds the record as the most decorated X-Games MotoX step up rider to date and has been an influential player in the evolution of freeride/freestyle motocross as we know it. He has also helped foster new talent through the years, sharing his passion for fun on two wheels with anyone who’s willing to partake in the joys that fuel his life, and ultimately his dream.

Slopestyle athlete David Lieb, with his precision and bag of tricks, has what it takes to be a threat on the FMB world tour. Going into 2020, David has made it on to the roster of the GT Wing Project, and he is only a few points shy from being able to compete on the world stage at Crankworx slopestyle events. Coming from an extensive background in BMX and riding motocross for fun, he has what it takes to make his dreams come to fruition and make a career out of his passion.

Both riders share similarities in riding style, sense of humor, as well as brand affinity, being sponsored by both Industry Nine and GT Bicycles. So, naturally, getting an iconic figure from the sport of motocross together with an up-and-coming rider whose potential has no limit seemed like a great idea! What came of it was something bigger than was expected which brought to light the similarities we all have as people – big or small, old or young, girl or boy – the simple joy of riding two wheels.
