2021 ATLANTA ONE SUPERCROSS | COMPLETE COVERAGE

One and done. The qualifying program for the 2021 Atlanta One Supercross has been clipped short due to a large weather system that’s moving through the South and heavy rains have soaked the red clay. The storm held off until the closing moments of the 450 B Group, which allowed most of the field to get a good lap in on the massive track in the morning session, but they didn’t have much time to memorize the layout.

To be honest, these lap times don’t offer much insight; it’s still unclear how rough the track will be or if the Dirt Wurx strategy to keep it covered and unwatered leading up to the weekend will help it be salvaged.

2021 ATLANTA ONE SUPERCROSS | 250 WEST COAST REGION TIMED QUALIFYING

The key title contenders in the 250 West Coast region claimed the top-three spots in the time sheets. Cameron McAdoo and Justin Cooper were the only two riders in the 1:39 range, with a 0.425 second difference, between their best laps. Hunter Lawrence was third overall with a 1:41.289.

Ryan Sipes and Chris Blose were the surprises of the morning. The Vet Class eligible racers put in 1:41 lap times that were quicker than their much younger competition.

It didn’t take Jason Anderson long to learn the fast way around the track. The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing rider was near the top of the board for much of the short session and put in a 1:37.726 time on lap seven, the best time of the day. Team Honda HRC’s Chase Sexton was the second-fastest and the only other rider in the 1:37 range, as the rookie clicked off a 1:37.991.

Looks who was third and fourth fastest at the potential mud race. Aaron Plessinger and Malcolm Stewart. There was a .309 second difference between the Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha rider’s best laps, with AP doing a 1:38.561 and Mookie a 1:38.870.

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing rider Dean Wilson was fifth overall with a 1:39.017.

Where were the pre-race favorites? Eli Tomac was sixth (1:39.077), Ken Roczen seventh (1:39.312), Justin Barcia eighth (1:39.393), and Cooper Webb ninth (1:39.423).
