In addition to his many business endeavors (synthetic oil, cattle farming, a small-town rail yard), Lucas Oil founder Forrest Lucas is the owner of a full-length movie production firm named Forrest Films. Through a deal with legacy studio Warner Brothers, Forrest Films has a place on the Warner Brothers lot in Los Angeles and access to the appropriate channels for the creation and full-scale distribution of seven films through the next few years. Forrest Films is an outlet of the things Lucas is interested in (family values, Americana, farming, and motorsports) and that’s all together in the trailer for the company’s latest release, Bennett’s War. With a well-rounded cast that includes country singer Trace Adkins, the film will portray the story of a veteran that was injured in combat as he takes on challenges at home, namely the chance the family farm could be lost due to missed mortgage payments, and how he races professional motocross to raise the necessary money.

Because both motocross and entertainment have selected Southern California to be the epicenter of their industries, it should come as no surprise that many share interests in both. We know a number of motocross riders that work as stuntmen, production coordinators, and construction roles in the film industry, and there are actors that have garages full of bikes. In fact, A Day In The Dirt was originally started as an event just for those in the film industry. You’ll notice that Glen Helen Raceway is used as the track of choice for this movie, and we’d venture to guess that a few guys we know were tapped as stunt riders for scenes that could not be shaped with footage from the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.

The movie will be released on August 30th.
