Although onboard videos are nothing new in racing, there’s something about the GoPro footage that we look forward to every week. Maybe it’s the quality of the cameras or the riders that they have gotten to wear them, but we always learn something new from the footage uploaded after the races. On Monday, GoPro posted a condensed edit of Adam Cianciarulo’s charge to the checkered flag in the 250 East-West Showdown at the 2019 Atlanta Supercross, which included clips like his opening lap contact with Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki teammate Austin Forkner that damaged his hand, his short skirmish with Jacob Hayes and the well-executed line selection that helped AC claim third place, his sandy pursuit and close pass on Chase Sexton, and finally the decisive pass on Forkner for the win.

Pay close attention to the video and pick up on Cianciarulo’s technique around the track. He seems very aware of what the other riders are going to do and he plotted his passes far in advance. It seems like AC has his PC KX250 on the rev limiter almost all the way around the track, something we noticed while standing trackside on Saturday night. In addition to the engine-influenced riding style, Cianciarulo moves his lower body around quite a lot; he has a tendency to kick his long legs out and hang off the side of the bike when hitting certain obstacles, especially abrupt ones that slow his momentum.
