AMSOIL Swapmoto Race Series | Glen Helen | Round Four

The 2019 AMSOIL West Coast Open series is officially on its final stretch, as round four of the Swapmoto race series took place last weekend at the legendary Glen Helen Raceway. With two exciting new track layouts and a perfect weather forecast, hundreds of racers made their way into the San Bernardino facility and took to the race course. The cool weather and cloud coverage gifted us with one more perfect day of racing, as the scorching summer heat is just around the corner. Thanks to all who attended round four of the AMSOIL West Coast Open race series, we hope to see you at round five!

Once again, the youngsters of our sport put together some action-packed races, as the Open 85-150F/Supermini class was stacked with a handful of talented riders. Following the gate drop, the sports up-and-coming left it all on the track, though one rider managed to dominate both motos. Cj Benard made his way to the lead and ran away with the win in both of the Supermini races. However, Cj’s dominance didn’t end there, as the youngster out of Arizona threw together another perfect performance in the Big Wheel Open 85/150F class, where he snagged his third and fourth wins of the day. Not to mention, Cj took on the big-bikes in the School Boy (125/250F) class and earned himself an impressive second place overall finish.

With a good chunk of our Swapmoto Race Series regulars being over the age of 25, Vet racing seems to be thriving more than ever. Each round of the AMSOIL West Coast Open series, we have seen exciting battles amongst the 20 different Vet classes, and round four at Glen Helen Raceway was no different. The 25+ Intermediate class is quite popular, as it’s often one of the most stacked races of the day. And with nine talented racers at round four, we knew we were in for some exciting motos. Despite the skilled competition, Cecil Ogle demonstrated his experience on a bike as he swept the class with two Moto wins. Ogle went on to grab another win in the Open Non-Pro class and take home that overall victory!

Carter Dubach is no stranger to the Swapmoto Race Series, and in the last year, we’ve witnessed his skill and speed progress quite a lot. With epic track conditions, Carter’s skillset, and a crisp YZ125 ready for battle; all eyes were on young Dubach in the 125cc Open class. Seemingly doing so without effort, Carter held his YZ125 wide-open around the rough Glen Helen course and dominated the 125cc Open class. Following his success in the 125cc class, Carter went on to grab another Moto win in the School Boy (125/250F) class and the overall class victory. Solid ride, Carter!

Really like what you guys have done so far! Site is super easy to navigate and engaging. I remember growing up going through school and the only positive thing about the weekend being over was kickstart on Monday. Now I’m 30 and don’t ride as much as I once did but follow the racing more than ever. It would be nice for you to continue to build on the kickstart feature highlighting behind scene weekend stuff that you don’t see while the average guy is in the pits at a national/sx. Always curious what the racers that don’t go to the press conference do directly after the race to cool down and relax.

    Keep up the good work
