AMSOIL West Coast Open | Round Five | State Fair MX

And that’s a wrap! The AMSOIL West Coast Open race series is officially in the books, as the series finale went off this past weekend at State Fair MX. Yet again,  the 100-degree temperatures didn’t seem to intimidate a single person, as we witnessed another large turnout at the swap moto race series. Hundreds of racers joined us at the fairgrounds for one last day of racing in the West Coast Open series. The track crew kept water on the ground throughout the day, keeping the two exciting track layouts in their best possible form. As the dust settled, the West Coast Open series was truly one to remember. Despite these crazy times, we were still able to race our dirt bikes with some of the largest turnouts the Swapmoto Race Series has seen. Thank you to everyone that came out and enjoyed a day at the races with us.

Straight from Loretta Lynns Ranch, our buddy Paul Perebijnos came out to the West Coast Open series finale at State Fair MX to do some more racing. If we are being honest, it’s been a while since we’ve seen Paul spin some laps, so we completely forgot how talented he is on the bike. Though, after watching him school the young kids in his first Pro 450F moto, it was pretty clear that Paul was the fastest guy at our series finale. Perebijnnos went on to compose a perfect day at the races, as he dominated in both the 30+ Pro and Pro 450F classes with two 1-1 performances. Thanks for coming out, Paul!

Dylan Howard has seemed to become a regular at the AMSOIL Swapmoto Race series, as he made an appearance at the last four rounds of the West Coast Open series. The kid out of Ramona, CA seemed to improve with each round, and at the series finale, it was evident that he was the one to beat in the 125cc classes. Dylan lined up in both the School Boy (125/250F) and 125cc Open classes on his number-3 machine, and on the gate was the only time his competition had a look at him. That’s right, Dylan dominated in both classes and seemed to grab all four moto wins on the day with ease. At the end of the day, Dylan ended off the West Coast Open series on a high with two class sweeps and overall victories.

Just like that, our Summer series of racing is a thing of the past. But, before you get upset, our Fall series is kicking off in just a few weeks! That’s right, round one of the Terra Firma series is set to take place on August 30th at Glen Helen Raceway. After the huge success that the West Coast Open series was, we can not wait to go get racing again. See you there!
