During a run-through Florida for the 2020 Daytona Supercross, we swung by Blake Baggett’s massive spread of land and watched him put in a few practice motos on his outdoor track. The Rocky Mountain ATV-MC/WPS/KTM rider has had an up and down year, like a podium appearance one weekend, an injury-induced DNS the next, and then a run-in with another rider the weekend after that.

There are certain days that Blake Baggett is one of the best riders in the world, while other times you can find him in the top-five and battling for a podium. One thing we’ve noticed lately is that he doesn’t live and die by his results. If things don’t go his way, he assesses the situation and prepares for the next gate drop. That’s an outlook no doubt shaped by his 10-plus years in the pro ranks and confidence that he can make it happen when everything comes together just right.

Chatting with Baggett is always good and during our 10-minutes with the recorder going, we touched on a number of topics and came away with an even better understanding of the El Chupacabra.
