The amateur motocross ranks are essentially treated as a proving ground before racers mature to the professional racing level. A proving ground that, with manufacturers factory support, resembles much of the glorified professional ranks. With the high-dollar contracts and factory-level support offered, the elite group of amateur racers are faced with nearly the same amount of pressure as pro-level racers; as they are both expected to win and put their team on top. The GEICO Honda unit grooms it’s up-and-coming racers through the AMSOIL Factory Connection Honda team, where riders such as Carson Mumford are rewarded with some of the best equipment and care in the sport in the hopes of imitating their successful amateur careers in the professional ranks.
