JGRMX/Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing has announced that Fredrik Noren will complete the 2019 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship on the team’s factory Suzuki RM-Z450, beginning this weekend at the 2019 Southwick Motocross. Noren will ride in place of Justin Hill, as the team’s original 450 rider is sidelined for the remainder of the summer due to a recent shoulder injury that required surgery.

Steve Matthes noted that Noren had talked with the team about a possible test at the Florida Motocross last weekend, a deal that came to fruition after he rode the bike in North Carolina. This will be the second full-factory team that Noren has subbed for, as he rose to prominence in 2015 and 2016 during stints with Team Honda HRC.

Through the first five rounds of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, Noren has scored points in all 10 motos and finished in the top-10 on four occasions aboard an independent Honda CRF450R. Noren was without a mechanic at the Florida round, so in between motos he was tasked with doing his own bike work and recovering in the heat; he went on to log 9-8 finishes for ninth overall and is currently 11th in the championship point standings.

With Noren coming into the team, this pushes interim fill-in Kyle Chisholm out after two rounds. Chisholm was initially slated to race the summer on his own with support from H.E.P. Motorsports and Suzuki; he will start that deal in the coming weeks.

Fredrik Noren will be making his debut with the JGRMX/Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing Team this weekend at the Southwick National for round six of the 2019 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. New to the RM-Z, Noren is set to contest the remainder of the Nationals on a Suzuki RM-Z450 while Justin Hill recovers from shoulder surgery. Kyle Chisholm, who rode the High Point and WW Ranch Nationals as a race by race fill-in for Hill, will continue to ride an RM-Z450 with support from H.E.P Motorsports and Suzuki.

“Fast Freddie” has proven to be a serious threat during the opening rounds of the 450 National series, despite the challenge of driving around the country as a privateer. The 27-year-old from Sweden has finished inside the top-ten on multiple occasions and has been on the cusp of a breakout ride. As part of the JGRMX/Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing Team, Noren will have race and team support as well as a forceful Suzuki RM-Z450 to compete with. He is determined to continue the momentum and success he’s had, and bring fresh talent to the team.

“I’m really thankful and excited to race for the JGRMX/Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing Team this summer,” said Noren. “The bike and program is a great fit for me and I’m looking forward to getting excellent results together. This opportunity lifts the weight off my shoulders after racing the opening five rounds as a privateer. It is a huge blessing and the timing couldn’t be more perfect.”

Look for the #101 Suzuki RM-Z450 of Fredrik Noren on the starting line this Saturday, along with Suzuki RM-Z250 riders Alex Martin and Kyle Peters, at The Wick 338.

Was walking along the track at the Fl national, found a red bull tent so we stopped for some shade. Saw the cutest little baby, being held by the grandma. We told her she was adorable and the lady said she was watching her daddy! We ask who he was and she told us it was Freddy! I was like Fast Freddy is the man, always kills it in fantasy! She didn’t know motocross had fantasy lol I can’t believe he was doing all of his bike work between moto’s while everyone else was relaxing in ice baths! Way to go Freddy!
