Garage Finds | Adam Cianciarulo’s Mini Gear

Presented by Throttle Syndicate

It’s amazing what will amass in your garage when you’ve been covering the sport for nearly three decades, and especially so when you’re forced to pack up your office into a dozen little boxes and relocate all of the treasures that have gathered on your walls. While trying to reorganize my garage last weekend, I realized that much of the memorabilia I’ve gathered has a cool back story that is well worth sharing. Thus was born our new weekly feature, Garage Finds…

This week I dug into a box, reached in without looking, and withdrew this set of Adam Cianciarulo’s riding gear from 2010 when he was a dominant minibike racer for Kawasaki Team Green, and also a guest columnist for TransWorld Motocross Magazine (rest in peace). AC and I have been pals since we first met at the World Mini Grand Prix in 2010, and we’ve worked on several fun projects together, including the “Are You Smarter than a Homeskooled Eighth Grader?” video series we produced for Monster Energy.

It’s pretty funny to look at how tiny this set of gear is, especially because AC is such a giant these days. (The jersey is a Youth XL and the pants are 26″.) When he was an amateur, Cianciarulo was one of the elite riders sponsored by Alpinestars before it started importing its line of riding apparel into the United States for sale. AC was also one of DC Shoes’ main motocross riders as his star power – even as a mini racer – was huge. It’s sad to think that the shoe company no longer involved in our sport after so many years of great support.

Cool custom touches like the silkscreened butt patch and sponsor logos on the leg made AC’s Alpinestars gear extra cool. Ignore the push pins…that’s what held this gear to my former office wall at TWMX. Haha!

I wonder if, after all these years, Adam realizes that his best buddy spells his name with two Ns?

The 2019 Lucas Oil 250 MX National Championship kicks off this weekend in Sacramento, California, at Prarie City OHV Park, and Cianciarulo will begin his bid for his first professional championship. Two weeks ago, a costly mistake stripped him of the Western Regional 250 Supercross Championship, and I’m sure his motivation to win this year’s outdoor championship is burning stronger than ever. It’s been strange to see all of Adam’s success as an amateur not materialize in the pro ranks just yet. I for one, still believe. Good luck this summer, AC!

Throttle Syndicate Graphic Kit of the Week

Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki Team Kit

Price: $199.99 complete

These days, Adam Cianciarulo is the Team Captain of the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit team, and Throttle Syndicate is the team’s official graphics supplier. You can purchase the exact same kit that AC and Austin Forkner run, with your own numbers of course. (Unless you’re a superfan, that is.) The kit comes complete with all of the pieces that the race team uses: radiator shrouds, side panels, front and rear fender, airbox, fork guards, and swingarm.

We’ve said it before, but Throttle Syndicate is the new name of one of our sport’s legacy brands, and its quality and reputation is second to none. Sponsor of the Pro Circuit team since day one, Throttle Syndicate’s kits fit perfectly, are easy to install, and stand the test of time.
