Garage Finds | Broc Tickle’s 2015 Thor MX Jersey

Presented by Backyard Design

Back in 2015, Jordan Powell and I put together what was my favorite TransWorld Motocross DVD movie ever: Premix. The movie had an all-star cast ripping around tracks at full speed, with no music, aboard two-stroke dirt bikes. Starring Jeremy McGrath, Ryan Villopoto, Josh Hill, Dean Wilson, Weston Peick, Ashley Fiolek, Shane McElrath, Christian Craig, and Broc Tickle, the film was as fun to shoot and edit as it was to watch once it was all done. Several of the riders rode specially built two-strokes, and one of them was the Suzuki RM250 that Tickle rode at Cahuilla Creek.

Broc had a blast on the bike, as it was an old RM250 engine mounted inside what was then a current RM-Z250 chassis. Then a member of the RCH/Soaring Eagle/Jimmy John’s/RAM team, we decked the bike out in Tickle’s team graphics and the segment in the movie was absolutely epic!

After the shoot, Broc declared that he had so much fun, that he was going to build a similar bike for himself. I don’t think he ever did, but man he continued to talk about how fun that day was for a while afterward. That day, Broc brought with him two sets of Thor MX gear to wear, and we chose a brighter flo yellow and orange kit for its pop. Since he did have a set of new red Prime Pro gear with him, we talked him out of the jersey to give away in an Instagram contest to help build hype around the movie. Surprisingly, the entrant we chose as the winner never DMed us his mailing address, so the jersey has stayed on the wall of my garage instead! Sorry about you, winner guy!

One of my favorite things about the movie were the opening scenes, which we also incorporated into the movie trailer. At each shoot, we brought along a white studio backdrop for consistency and asked each of the riders to make their best two-stroke sounds. Haha! The trailer is below. Enjoy!

Backyard Design Graphic Kit of the Week

Custom Graphic Kits Starting At $179.99

Backyard Design was founded in 2010 by two privateer Supercross racers: Jared Hicks from Alabama and Philipp Klakow from Germany. What started off as a project to fund their Supercross racing efforts has now grown into a worldwide graphics manufacturer, with dual headquarters in the United States and Germany. Backyard Design is known for being one of the first custom graphics makers to have a completely interactive website, where customers can design their own kits with a few clicks on a computer mouse.

The guys at Backyard Design USA are up for any challenge when it comes to making your bike or helmet look cool, as they can help you create the graphic kit or helmet wrap of your dreams in only a few easy steps. We have been blown away by the ease in which BYD kits apply, and especially so on the Kawasaki KX450, which can be a challenge when it comes to the side panels. Backyard Designs’ patterns and material set them apart from the rest!

Want something a little more wild? Backyard Design USA’s web site has a wide selection of baseline designs to start with for all brands, which can be customized with your sponsor logos, etc.

I love these articles! First, you’ve got an endless amount of stories that bring texture and context which is cool to hear. And it’s pretty cool to see how the gear has evolved and this one is a reminder of how RCH had an impressive sponsorship line-up!
