BICYCLES BIKE TEST

GT Bicycles Force GT-E | Sneak Peek

Share

After some initial resistance, pedal-assist mountain bikes are slowly but surely gaining widespread acceptance in the United States. GT Bicycles offers two different pedal-assist mountain bikes in Europe – one hardtail and one full suspension – that utilize the tried and true Shimano Steps motor, and combine them with GT frame design and suspension technology. Though the Force GT-E ad Pantera GT-E are not yet available Stateside, we got to throw a leg over the full-suspension Force GT-E because the SGB Racing/Maxxis Tires/Babbitt’s Kawasaki team enjoys sponsorship from the legacy brand in bicycling. Our buddy Alex Ray races for the SGB Racing/Maxxis Tires/Babbitt’s Kawasaki team and he was lucky enough to obtain one of the Force GT-E pedal-assist mountain bikes. Whether it’s for recovery or base training rides – or just for pure, unadulterated fun – the Force GT-E is one bad bike. Sadly, it is only available in Europe the moment, but if the demand is high enough, GT could bring it into the United States market.
