Honda CR Electric in Action

Yesterday, Honda Japan unveiled the Honda CR Electric to the public at the All Japan National MC Championship in Kumamoto, Japan. Former HRC Honda racer Kazumasa Masuda took the bike for a low-key ride around the race track during the intermission before the start of the championship motos, but he never hit race speed during the riding demonstration. Still, the reception from the crowd was great, as the prospect of an electric motocross bike from Honda is bot exciting and intriguing.

Earlier in the week we used translation software to decipher a press release from Honda Japan and it suggested that the CR Electric would be available for demo rides. Though we highly doubted that, we shared that information and were incorrect. The mystery of Japanese to English translation remains, as even our Japanese friends in the United States read the PR and agreed. Perhaps there was a change of heart at the factory level. Haha!

Our man on the scene in Japan, Toru Matsunaga, sent us these photos of Masuda in action.
