How Was Your Weekend | Yusuke Watanabe’s Victorious Japan Homecoming

Presented by Ogio Powersports

After winning the 2017 All Japan National Championship in the IA2 (250) class, Yamaha factory rider Yusuke Watanabe headed to the United States to pursue his dream of racing in America. In fact, it was a bonus clause written in his contract: if he were to win the Japanese championship, Yamaha would support him for the Lucas Oil MX Nationals in the United States. In ’18, Watanabe competed under the 3D Racing Yamaha tent, but un ’19 he was upgraded to the Cycle Trader/Rock River Yamaha squad. Under the tutelage of American motocross legend Doug Dubach, Yuseke made great strides forward and turned in some top-20 finishes in the 250 class. This weekend, Watanabe returned to the All Japan MX series and scored a popular win with a perfect score in his homecoming event.
