The opening round of the 2019 All Japan National Championship MX Series kicked off two weekends ago in Kumamoto, Japan, and our man on the scene Toru Matsunaga sent us some race action photos and the results. Former IA1 Champion Kei Yamamoto scored the overall win with a perfect 1-1 moto tally, but defending and 12-time Champion Akira Narita had a solid showing in second. The factory Honda teammates were joined on the podium by former IA2 Champion and full-time AMA Nationals racer Toshiki Tomita, who was a guest of the factory Honda team at Kyushu, making it an all-red sweep.
