Renthal is famous for its aluminum handlebars that come in 7/8″, TwinWall, and Fatbar configurations, and last night it announced the new oversized Fatbar 36, which boasts a massive 36mm clamping area. The bar is much lighter than anything else in the Renthal handlebar range, and riders who have ridden with the new FB 36 say that it has a more compliant feel on the track. Team Honda HRC’s Ken Roczen has been instrumental in the development of the bar, which has been in the works for five years, and he has been racing with it since the Monster Energy Cup last October. Renthal invited the media to an official launch party for the new Fatbar 36 last night after Anaheim Two press day, and we caught up with Brand Manager Paul Perebijnos to get the scoop. We also chatted with Team Honda HRC Team Manager Erik Kehoe, TiLube/AEO Powersports/BT20 racer Broc Tickle, and Penrite Honda’s Mitchell Oldenburg. Enjoy!
