Is Cole Seely the World’s Fastest Retiree?

Team Honda HRC’s Cole Seely announced his retirement from racing a couple of months ago after a shoulder injury ended his 2019 season prematurely. The Californian underwent surgery to repair his torn rotator cuff and labrum, and just last week got back on a motorcycle for the first time. Yesterday, Cole joined us at Perris Raceway for his second day of riding. Dunlop Tires debuted its new MX53 intermediate- to hard-pack tire to the media yesterday, and we invited Seely to come along.

As always, it was great to chat with Seely in between motos and although he is retired from racing, he remains under contract with Honda through the end of the month so he still has the benefit of a factory bike and support. While his former mechanic Jordan Troxell was at the Honda Supercross track testing with his new rider Ken Roczen on the Honda CR250R two-stroke that they will contest at the upcoming Red Bull Straight Rhythm, Seely sat in a lawn chair at Perris and filled us in on the progress of the CR250R two-stroke that he’s building for the same reason. Seely has always been one to explore other interests, and we’ve been followers of his cool YouTube channel ever since he started vlogging. Until the Red Bull Straight Rhythm, we won’t get to see Seely in action behind a starting gate, so we thought we’d share a few snaps of the World’s Fastest Retiree in action.
