Justin Brayton knows it’s important to give back to the grassroots of the sport. That’s why the Team Honda HRC rider has worked with track owner Tony Wenck to bring all of Iowa motocross together at Riverside Raceway in Winterset for the annual Justin Brayton Shootout. We heard about the race a few weeks back and made the trip to the track to catch up with JB10 and to see the local scene. Apparently, we weren’t alone because riders from around the country flocked to the track for 1400 race entries and full gates in a wide variety of classes. Wenck and Brayton made sure that the race was approved by Iowa state officials and the health board, a thing that will likely be necessary in our current COVID-19 world.

On Sunday we spent a few minutes with Brayton discussing the event, how it feels to spin laps on a Factory Honda CRF450R at a track he grew up riding, and of course, the imminent return to pro racing.
