Kid Gifted a New, Safer Helmet on His First-Ever Track Day!

Presented by Z1R Helmets

Last weekend at Perris Raceway, we were lucky enough to meet a father and son duo who were enjoying their first-ever day at a motocross track. Jake and his dad normally ride quads in the desert, but Jake was bitten by the moto bug and asked for a Kawasaki KX85 to ride motocross with. Lucky for him, we noticed him and his dinged-up old helmet and were able to upgrade him with a Z1R FI Mips helmet, which features a polycarbonate shell, multi-density EPS liner, and multiple intake and exhaust ports. In addition to replacing your helmet after it’s been crashed in, you should always consider its age and exposure to the elements. In addition to hardening over time from heat and exposure to the sun, the EPS and comfort liners can be damaged by the acidity in your sweat. Most helmet experts agree that it’s a good idea to replace your helmet every three to four years, regardless of whether it’s been crashed in or not. Thankfully, our new pal Jake is good to go for several years now!
