Let’s Race! | AMSOIL West Coast Open Kickoff Announced

Share

It’s been a long three months since the COVID-19 pandemic brought sporting activities in California to a halt, but we are excited to announce that the AMSOIL Swapmoto Race Series has gotten the thumbs us to return to action. So dust off your boots and clean your goggles, because the opening round of the AMSOIL West Coast Open is set for June 14th at State Fair MX!

Of course, some aspects of our race program will have to change in order to comply with social distancing guidelines. That said, we’ve put together a video to help new- and returning-racers enjoy a smooth race day.

Some of the precautions we are taking on race day:

  • Bring your own pen to sign waiver at the track and for any other use.
  • Park at least 10′ away from your neighbor.  Additional parking will be available.  Be prepared to spread out a little more than normal.
  • Maintain 6′ of distance at all times and wear a mask when you are not able to do so.  Registration, staging, on the gate at the moto sheet board, etc.
  • Racers are allowed support people which we know are typically from the same household.  Do your best to limit the amount of un-needed individuals.
  • Everyone should take advantage of pre registration.  CLICK HERE and not only save $5 per class but avoid person to person contact at the event.
  • Visit www.MyLaps.com and purchase the TR2 Transponder.  Enter the code SOCAL2020 at checkout and save 20%.  Most race promoters are moving to this method so you will be able to use it at all major races.
  • Use the instagram @swapmotoraceseries to see practice and race schedules.  Visit THE RESULTS PAGE to see lap times and finishing positions.  Paper copies will not be handed out.
  • Overnight parking is available but all guidelines and distancing will be strictly enforced so that we can run a safe event.
  • Get there early!  On race day gates open at 6am, practice starts at 8am, racing will follow.  Give yourself time and avoid the traffic of everyone showing up at the same time.

These are the guidelines discussed with the agencies in control of us running a race.  We are in a highly visible area and people will be watching that we are following these precautions. Your help is greatly appreciated.

I paid and pre registered and paid for transponder for round 1 before it got postponed. We can’t make June 14 but plan on doing rest of series. How does it work as far money already spent and signing up again

Do we have to reserve a camping spot for the 14th?
