Would you believe that we had one more shootout comparison to do for 2023? The Special Edition shootout finally came together last week since the Gas Gas Factory Edition MC450F was finally released, so we rented out Cahuilla Creek MX to ride the Gas Gas, Honda, Husqvarna, Kawasaki, and KTM, special edition machines, back to back. (We’re still working on the wrap-up video and post.) I’ve said it before and I am sure that most of you can’t relate, but shootout tests are no fun. Sure, riding dirt bikes is loads of fun, but logging a ton of laps on different bikes, all the while focusing on how they differentiate from each other is a lot more work than just hitting some jumps and blasting some berms… It’s really tough, I promise! Haha! Even so, I love what I do for a living and I love who I get to do it all with. Life on two wheels is a good life, indeed.
Aside from the shootout test, it was. a jam-packed week with photo shoots, video shoots, podcasts, shows, and more. Chase and I even found time to get out and remind ourselves that we are not as rad on mountain bikes as we like to think we are. (You’ll see…) I ended the week with a cool rattlesnake avoidance training class with snakeworxavoidance so that Misa hopefully won’t get bitten this summer on our bike rides!
