Let’s be real. I grew up on two-strokes but it’s been well over a decade since I spent any amount of time riding them. I raced one at the Day in the Dirt Motocross Grand Prix the past two Thanksgiving holidays, but that’s really about it. Why I decided to race the Fasthouse Two-Stroke World Championships at Glen Helen last weekend, I will never know, but I thought that riding a handful of laps a few days before would be good enough. I was wrong! Out of 13 +50 Intermediates, I finished eighth in the first moto and felt like a complete fish out of water the entire time. So miserable, in fact, that I was home washing my bike before the gate dropped on the second moto! I know that there are two-stroke diehards out there, but I’m just not one of them. Anyway, getting waxed on a YZ250 ended the week about as nicely as it started… BIG endo on Monday trying a new trail at Greer Ranch with Chase. Here’s to hoping that next week is better! Haha!
