Lean the bike into corner. If you stand or sit upon corner entry will be your call; standing sometimes helps drive the bike’s weight into the ground for more traction, while sitting might be better for balance or track conditions.

If there is a rut to bank off, great! You can use that to keep the bike on your preferred path if it’s strong enough to hold up. Just be mindful of holes or bumps. If it’s a flatter turn, you’ll need to rely on your legs and core to keep the bike under control.

Be in the proper gear. If you’re too low, the engine could tap out its power and “bind” the bike up, causing it to handle tight or erratic. If you’re too high, the engine will be laboring and slow to go, which can make the bike feel heavy. Try to limit your shifts when turning and be mindful of the following obstacle.

Keep your head over the handlebars and weight of your body forward. This will help the front-end stay planted to the ground and help it steer as you go up or down the hill.
