Seat bouncing provides the last little bit of pop needed to get over obstacles by loading the suspension on the face of the jump and unloading once it leaves the lip.

Sitting down is the best known way, as the technique is often used on steep jumps that immediate follow tight or slow sections. Be sure to be in the middle of the saddle, with a firm grip of the handlebars and your knees squeezing the bike.

As always, control the controls. Roll on the throttle to avoid a sudden power surge, keep the front-end from dropping by stay off the brakes, and avoid any unnecessary actions like clutch hits or gear shifts.

Pull up. The extra effort could be the extra few inches you need to clear the landing.
