Penrite Honda Mechanics on the Fly Racing Swapmoto Podcast

Presented by Fly Racing

For the past week, I have played “embedded journalist” with the Penrite Honda team in Australia for the 2019 AUS-X Open Supercross in Melbourne. The roster of mechanics and racers are all guys that I know well, as they are either American or Australians that have spent time stateside, and it’s been interesting to see how the sport differs on the two continents. Although Australia is obsessed with motocross, the country’s size, economy, and distance from the US or Europe mean they have to go about things in a slightly different way.

During the break between practice and the night show on Saturday afternoon, I pulled out my recorder and asked three of the mechanics to explain the scene from their perspective. Scott Lillis and Nick Timson are native Aussies while Nathan Alexander is the visiting American, and all three shared stories or insight of the Supercross season.
