We’re just a few weeks away from the start of the 2020 race season and teams are starting to share material from the preseason photos shoots, including Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing. Justin Barcia and Aaron Plessinger return to their spots in the Blu Cru, complete with the all-new 2020 YZ450F race bike, for the full Supercross and motocross schedule. Widely regarded as the most powerful 450 of the big six, the team has spent the preseason tuning the YZ450F to the rider’s liking (Barcia made waves when he said that he would like to ride a mostly stock bike in November, but how close to production they have kept the bike remains to be seen).

This is an important year for both riders, as they are in the final year of their current contracts with Yamaha. Barcia has made it very well known that a top-three overall rank in either the Monster Energy Supercross Series or Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship will trigger an automatic contract renewal with the team, while Plessinger looks to move past the injuries and issues that plagued him through his rookie season in the premier class. Remember that Barcia was a Main Event winner in 2019 and that Plessinger was fighting for top-five finishes before the Daytona crash, so keep an eye on both through the coming weeks.
