SML Race Series In Need Of Photographer

Share

Attention aspiring photographers in the Southern California area, the Swapmoto Live Race Series is looking for a new skilled photographer to cover the races. While this job is focused at highlighting racers from our amateur series, this position is an excellent gateway into the sport and the industry. Details about the job are listed below!

Requirements

  • Must have access to a camera and computer.
  • Must have transport to the race series events.
  • Photoshop or a program similar will be needed to resize and watermark photos.

Job Description

Unless you are new to the SML Race Series, you’ll know that we race on both the main and amateur(vet) tracks to ensure a quick and efficient race day. Each set of races will go off twice, as we use a two-moto format. The event photographer’s goal is to capture 1-2 photos of every racer in each race. That means you will be shooting on one track for the first set of races and then switch to the other track for second motos.

Following the race day, you will be responsible for sorting the photos by race number; all pictures taken from moto-1 on both tracks will go in a folder titled “Moto One” and so forth. Either before or after sorting the photos, you will need to resize and watermark each photo with the race series logo using a batch process, this is where photoshop or other programs come into play. Lastly, you will give a brief 2-3 paragraph summary of the race and some riders that stood out, as well as upload the pictures in their sorted folders.

If you are interested in joining the SML staff and taking on this race series position please send an email to [email protected]
