SWAPMOTO LIVE INDUSTRY RIDE DAY | COMPLETE COVERAGE

There’s something about a day at the track that still gets us. Like you, we take advantage of every open date on the calendar we can and plan out which of the excellent facilities around Southern California that we can make a quick run to. Since no ride day can happen alone, we always make sure that at least a handful of our crew are aware of the plan and each comes accordingly with supplies or duties for the day. The first one to the track is obligated to block a few spots in the parking lot, those that come after then help set up the pits, and the last to show up will often have donuts or post-ride Modelos on ice. If it’s a laid back ride day, everyone will get on the track at the same time so that no one is left alone in the pits. If it’s a round of the AMSOIL Swapmoto Race Series, it’s a free for all of sweeping the gates for friends in different motos or prepping bikes in hurried fashion for the next race. The time between rides is always full of bench racing and banter, like talk of new parts, recent races, or where we’ll head for lunch after.

We know this is a common thread for all that ride together, so a few weeks back, we decided an industry ride day was necessary and an invite was sent through our contact list. Since some need a reason to show for a workday at the track instead of in the office, we told everyone to bring their products out for one-on-one interviews and spotlights. While swap and Chase handled that in the pits, I got out my camera and clicked off photos of everyone that spun laps on a well-prepped track at Perris Raceway. Dommer made a stop by Krispy Kreme on his way and snagged six dozen donuts plus coffee for the morning, Doni stocked coolers full of Coors Light and water for later in the day, and a few cases of frozen hamburgers were cooked up by guest chef Jeremy McGrath.

Thanks to all that made the trip out and took part in the day. We all know how much work and effort is required by all to keep the industry going, but days like that our way we all want to be a part of motocross in the first place. The first month of Swapmoto Live was a success thanks to the support from the industry and we hope to do a few more ride days like this in the future, so keep an eye out for the next invite in your email…
