Price: $44.99 (Fire Pre-Workout Complex); $49.99 (Blitz Workout Complex); $44.99 (Reload Post-Workout Protein)

If you’ve been in motocross circles for a few years the ARMA name might seem familiar, but name recognition is all that the new ARMA Sport brand has in common with the ARMA that you might remember. The new ARMA Sport is a manufacturer of sports performance and recovery nutrition products, from a pre-workout drink, to a during-workout formula, to a protein recovery shake. Spearheaded by seven-time Supercross Champion Jeremy McGrath and Millville 125 National winner and longtime Supercross fixture Nick Wey, ARMA Sport is Informed Sport certified and free of all banned substances by LGC’s world-class sports anti-doping laboratory.

Prior to the brand’s official launch on February 6 – today – ARMA Sport sent out care packages to selected personalities, racers, and media outlets to get its products out there for testing and sampling. Nick Wey gave us our first containers of ARMA Sport products to try when he joined us on the Kickstart Podcast on April 1st, and Jeremy McGrath himself gave us the beautifully packaged kit pictured above a few days later.

With two full months to try all three products (Reload protein comes in two flavors: chocolate and vanilla), we have plenty of experience and feedback regarding all of them.

FIRE PRE-WORKOUT COMPLEX

Fire is meant to be taken before your workout and its main ingredient is green coffee powder which is said to boost energy and metabolism. The product is vegan and certified non-GMO, has 4 grams of organic cane sugar, and no artifical coloring or sweeteners. The small scoop mixes with 8-10 ounces of water…we prefer 10.

The powder mixes easily with water but maintains a small amount of grittiness that you can sometimes chew after drinking. We were told that the grit was actually coffee bean grounds. The flavor of Fire is quite pleasant and the grittiness is by no means off-putting…it’s just a unique characteristic of the Fire.

In stark contrast to other pre-workout drinks we’ve tried, Fire does not give you the jitters or that tingly skin feeling. Instead, the boost that Fire provides is smooth and long-lasting, with no crash whatsoever. We’ve come to love the effects of the Fire formula so much, that we’ve actually used it to replace our morning coffee on days when we weren’t craving a hot cup of Joe. Using Fire before a mountain bike ride produces minimal warm-up time and good, sustained energy on the trail. Drinking Fire before riding moto also helps us ride strong throughout our entire motos.

All in all, we really love Fire Pre-Workout Complex and can definitely feel its benefits after drinking it. Furthermore, it is possible to see a difference in time-based results with and without it.

Blitz Workout Complex

Blitz is meant to be consumed before, during, and after workouts. Visit armasport.com to read up on all its key ingredients in complete detail, but it’s main ingredients are meant to aid in maintaining proper hydration, maintain proper ATP levels in your body, help reduce inflammation and buildup of lactic acid in muscles, and promote weight loss and maintain proper blood sugar levels. There are no stimulants like caffeine in Blitz.

We’ll be completely honest here…Blitz tastes amazing and is by far our favorite thing to drink at the track in between motos, or on the trail while working out on a bike. Even warm, it tastes pretty good, so trying to keep it cold on a mountain bike ride is not necessary. We’ve noticed that our energy levels stay consistently high while consuming Blitz – there’s no detectable spike or lull – we just feel consistently well. It hasn’t yet become unbearably hot in SoCal this summer, but when it does, we’re certain that Blitz will help keep up properly hydrated.

The directions recommend one scoop with 12-22 ounces of water. We suggest the leaner mixture, as the flavor can be too strong is mixed richly. That just means that the 20.5 ounce jug will last longer!

Reload Post-Workout Protein

Again, refer to the web site for a complete breakdown of all the ingredients and features that go into ARMA Sport’s Reload Post-Workout Protein. What we can tell you is that it contains nine essential amino acids for muscle repair, and is made from whey derived from grass-fed cows. Reload is meant to be consumed as a post-workout recovery drink, but we’ve also used it as a meal replacement drink in the mornings.

Our favorite thing about Reload is that is blends super easily with water and leaves no chunky, dusty clumps. The drink goes down smooth and tastes great, though we prefer the chocolate over the vanilla. ARMA recommends that you mix two scoops with 6-8 ounces of water, but we’ve found that using oat milk instead really gives the protein a shake appeal when using it as a meal replacement. The high-quality of the Reload protein really helps satisfy your hunger for hours.

The Verdict

ARMA Sport is sure to be a hit, as its products are effective, great tasting, and certified free of all banned substances for athletic competition. We’ve had the pleasure of training, riding, and racing with ARMA nutritional supplements for two months now, and have nothing but positive feelings for all three products.
